In the remote and climate-vulnerable Charmontaz Union of Patuakhali, 23-year-old Antu Rani grew up witnessing firsthand the daily struggles of a coastal community battered by storms, tidal surges, and poverty. With limited opportunities and a financially constrained background, Antu longed to contribute to her community—but lacked a platform. That changed when her mother became involved with the Local Government Initiative on Climate Change (LoGIC) project.
Inspired, Antu joined the LoGIC Youth Platform in 2023, and her journey as a changemaker began. Together with local youth, she helped establish the Climate Vulnerable LoGIC Youth Platform in Charmontaz Union, where they led awareness campaigns and climate protection activities. Antu’s leadership soon extended into green entrepreneurship through her involvement with “Sagorkonna Pure Shutki,” a women-led dry fish cooperative launched under LoGIC.
